I am a specialist criminal solicitor with over 20 years of experience in criminal and motoring law. Since qualifying I have represented thousands of clients facing criminal proceedings for many different types of offence, defending them in court on a daily basis.

I have experience of and can advise people concerning any criminal offence but my particular specialities and interests lie with offences under the Theft Act, all categories of assault and motoring offences.

I am comfortable meeting clients in our city centre offices or by telephone consultation and representing them at police stations and courts across the country.

Practicing in this area of law is very challenging and exciting. I enjoy it now as much as I did when I started and still get great satisfaction from helping clients to win their case so they do not go to prison, are not disqualified from driving or receive serious financial punishment.

I am conscious that every case is extremely important to every client and do my best to achieve the best possible outcome in every case.

I am dedicated and prepare each case meticulously and as a result have achieved a high rate of acquittal. I am always available to help my clients cope with the stresses of being a suspect. I take time to talk and to explain what can be complex issues to each of them.

Clients describe me as calm, reassuring and always available should they need me. They also say I vigorously argue their cases at court.

I have been a member of the Police Station and Magistrates’ Court Duty Solicitor Schemes for many years having successfully completed the Law Society accreditation processes and assessments.

I have specialist knowledge in Road Traffic Law and have appeared on BBC Radio Newcastle discussions on this area of law.

I joined David Gray Solicitors LLP as a trainee solicitor in March 2002 and qualified as a solicitor in January 2004.

I came to the law following a career in the Royal Marines, during which time I served on various NATO exercises.

I obtained my degree from Northumbria University before joining David Gray Solicitors LLP.
